The Disciple's Path DEVO - Day 22

Day 22: Purpose Opens the Purse

Read
Acts 4:32-35

The early church’s generosity wasn’t random—it was driven by a clear purpose: caring for one another and advancing God’s kingdom. They sold property, shared resources, and made sure no one was in need. Their unity and purpose opened their hearts—and their purses—to give freely.

When we have a God-centered purpose, giving becomes natural. It’s not about obligation but about partnering with God in His mission. The believers in Acts gave because they understood their role in building God’s kingdom.

What’s your purpose when it comes to giving? Reflect on how God might be calling you to use your resources to meet the needs of others and advance His kingdom.

REFLECT
How does having a clear purpose influence your giving? What steps can you take to align your generosity with God’s mission?

PRAY
Father, align my heart with Your purpose. Help me to see the needs around me and give with a clear sense of mission. Open my hands to share freely as a partner in Your work. Amen.
