Mary & Joseph: A Story of Faith, Obedience and Trust

On the second week of Advent, we experience the stories of Gabriel visiting both Mary and Joseph in parallel. Imagine, lives changed in a twinkling of an eye. God’s plan unfolding in the life of Mary and Joseph, chosen by God to be the Holy Family ushing in the newborn King, our Messiah. This is a story of great faith, obedience and trust. God chose a young peasant girl named Mary, betrothed to Joseph, a carpenter. What do we do when all our plans change in an instant? God’s plan, a plan so unexpected yet, so amazing it changes the course into unknown territory. Mary’s words, “I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Are we ready to accept God’s plan for our lives with that kind of faith, obedience and trust?
