The Disciple's Path DEVO - Day 14

Day 14: Connection is a Choice, Not an Accident

Read: Galatians 6:2

In Acts 8, Philip intentionally chooses to connect with the Ethiopian eunuch, demonstrating that meaningful connection doesn’t just happen by chance. It’s a deliberate choice. When Philip heard the Spirit’s prompting, he didn’t ignore it. Instead, he ran to the chariot and engaged the eunuch in conversation, offering help and guidance. In the same way, the Ethiopian had to choose to say “Yes” to Jesus and “Yes” to baptism. Baptism has long been the front door of the Church, our first big step to connect with God’s family.

In our own lives, connection requires that same intentionality. We must choose to be present, to listen, and to invest in the spiritual well-being of others. It’s easy to think that relationships will naturally form, but the truth is, we have to make the effort to build them.

Reflect:
Are you making the choice to connect with others, or are you waiting for connection to just happen? What practical steps can you take to be more intentional about building relationships?

Pray:
Lord, give me the courage and wisdom to choose connection over isolation. Help me to be intentional in building relationships that honor you and support others. Amen.
