The Disciple's Path DEVO - Day 6

Day 6: Bringing Our Pain to God

Read -
Nehemiah 1:4

When Nehemiah heard about Jerusalem’s walls, he didn’t hold back his emotions—he brought his pain to God. He didn’t bottle up his sadness or try to fix it on his own. Instead, he wept, fasted, and prayed, pouring his heart out to God. Nehemiah’s example shows us that God isn’t just open to our pain; He welcomes it. When we share our pain with God, we invite Him into the areas of our lives that need His presence most. It’s an act of trust and surrender to give God the burdens we carry.

Reflect: Are there areas of your life where you’ve tried to carry pain alone? What might change if you opened up to God about those burdens?

Pray: Father, I bring my hurts, disappointments, and struggles to You. Help me trust You enough to be real with my pain, knowing that You care deeply for me. Thank You for being a God who listens and understands. Amen.
