Day 65: Welcoming Jesus
Read: Revelation 3:20
In Revelation 3:20, Jesus says, “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” Jesus is always ready to enter our lives if we will only open the door and welcome Him in, just as Zacchaeus did. Why not welcome the one who welcomes us?
Welcoming Jesus into our lives is not a one-time event; it’s a daily decision to invite Him into every part of our lives. Inviting someone into our house is a risk; we’re taking people into an intimate space. To change us, God has to go into the most intimate spaces of “our house,” the house of our hearts. When we open the door to Jesus, we allow Him to bring His peace, joy, and transformation into our hearts and homes.
REFLECT: Is there a part of your life where you need to open the door and invite Jesus in? How can you make welcoming Him a daily practice?
PRAY: Lord Jesus, I open the door of my heart to You. Come into every part of my life, and make Your home in me. Help me to live each day in Your presence. Amen.
