Who Is Our Neighbor?

Sunday, August 17, 2025

Luke 10:25-37

Today we visit the age old parable of the Good Samaritan, a story told after a teacher of the law stood to ask Jesus what he must do to have eternal life.

We've heard the story many times, yet, I think we have only scratched the surface of its meaning. The Good Samaritan parable is more than a parable but an allegory, which means there is a deeper meaning or more meaning than one.

Who is our neighbor?

It's a much bigger question that is farther reaching than meets the eye. Yet, still a good question, if we really want to know the answer.

The question is do we?

Are we willing to be challenged by the deeper meaning of this text in a world that truly struggles to be a neighbor to everyone and anyone.

See where I am going?

What does that look like?

And what does it really mean for our faith journey and to be the Christians we are called to be?

Come Sunday and let us come face to face with all the realities of what it means to us to truly live out our Christian faith with all God intends.
