SERVANT TO THE LORD
January 11, 2026
Scripture: Isaiah 42:1-9
In our scripture this week from Isaiah 42:1-9, the chosen servant of the Lord, will bring justice and mercy. As we have shared the cradle in the coming Savior, we find ourselves looking into the future of what that servant will accomplish through the cross. “A bruised reed,” provides the vision of the future that will be the fruit of his work on the cross to bring hope, justice and a new day with a new covenant of grace.
As an example, the servant comes to show the world the mission and purpose for his coming “to be a light, open eyes that are blind, to set the captives free!” Through his life, ministry and example, we continue this mission in the world, as servants of the Lord.
What can we do, that be that light and offer hope and work for justice today?
