I THIRST: LONGING FOR GOD

Scripture: Psalms 42


Psalm Sunday we begin the first of our Lenten Series Sermons. 


Do you long for a deeper relationship with God?

In Psalm 42, which is the central Scripture for our series we hear the Psalmist crying out for God. “As the deer pants for the water my soul longs for you God.”


During this Lenten Series called, “I Thirst,” we will study scriptures that speak of our deepest desire for a genuine, encounter and relationship with God as we make our way to the cross of Christ that has made all the difference in our lives to transform us by the amazing grace and love displayed in the final act upon the cross for all of to redeem us and make us beloved children of God.

 

Through our studies we will draw closer to God through prayer and meditation to walk the way of our Lord and experience anew his presence, purpose, and mission as we seek the cleansing, water that God can only give.


Will you take this journey?


Will we seek Him with our whole heart? 


Let this be our prayer of our heart from Psalm 42:1-2,

1 As the deer pants

for streams of water,

so my soul longs after You, O God.

2My soul

thirsts for God, the living God.
